Liberal Arts (2012) movie review

Hey, finally a movie review. This time it's Liberal Arts (2012), for those who doesn't know this guy...

 

Yeah people Josh Radnor, a.k.a Ted Mosby (he looks like wolverine in this picture, no?) starring this movie,  along side with Elizabeth Olsen... 

who also plays the scarlet witch in the upcoming movie Avengers; Age of Ultron.

Liberal Arts (2012)

This tells a story about a 35 years old Jesse Fisher (Josh Radnor) go to visit his college to attend his English professor's, Peter Holberg (Jenkkins), retirement ceremony. There he meets Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen). And things get interesting when Zibby makes her move towards Jesse, who is very conscious about their age different. When Jesse packs his bag to return home, Zibby gives him a call and asks him to meet up with her at the library. There Zibby gives him a classic compilation with her number, they both promise to write a hand written letter to each other. After several weeks (i think, it's not mentioned in the movie), Zibby asks Jesse to come visit, and that she misses him. After much considerations, Jesse complied. They meet, and talk, and Zibby says that she doesn't care about his age, and they are dating. 

But of course things will get complicated at some point, that i will not say much and you have to find out yourself by watching it. And I forgot to mention, Zac Efron also in this movie.

Personally this is what i usually watched, because i was just browsing on IMDb for a movie to watch, and one thing led to another i found this. And decided to give it a try.

The story line is a bit boring at first, but after Jesse met Zibby that's when the story has seasoning in it. And from what i've seen, the characters are well played, they really acted their age you can see the difference in perspective from their age; young adult and fully mature adult (maybe because their real ages are not much different to the characters) . Also the quote before, i saw it in the movie; Jesse as an adult has more knowledge of life therefore always think things through, while Zibby as a young adult she is always says yes to everything.

Real life situation; somethings just don't work out, somethings just do. Society these days, ahh life is very complicated indeed eh. i see cases like this almost every day honestly, and somehow i'm surprised when things turn out fine. Not that is a bad thing, it's a good thing because it shows people still understand and tolerate each other.

I would say you can watch this movie if you want, just to spent some wasted time. If you don't then it's fine, because you'll not miss much actually especially if you can put things together since i may have tell you some implicit hints.

Rating:

I give it around 5/10. i like it but it's not something i want to watch repeatedly.

Still on Shingeki no Kyojin a.k.a Attack on Titan

I still haven't watched any movie, so for now let's just stick to Attack on Titan.. But never fear people, while writing this i am downloading a movie. it's a 2012 movie, so it's not new and maybe you haven't watched it or maybe don't even know about it. 

Without further ado, let's jump in people

As you can see this is Levi, whose life worth a unit of recon corps. That is true because he’s just that good. He might look unfriendly but he is very trustworthy, and he values human’s life especially his special unit, though he doesn't show it. When he saw his squad dead bodies, wiped out by the female titan while guarding Eren, he is grieving. Especially when Petra’s father asking him about his daughter, it is seen that Levi’s face was blank or I can say that he was very sad and feeling guilty.

And he is good looking (at least me and my friend agreed to that, don’t know about you guys). Also he is a charismatic character, for example when Eren’s injured hand transform into titan while picking a spoon, he easily calm his squad down, and I think other might takes a longer time to do that knowing each member of his squad is exceptionally good in their field.

He is physically short 160 cm, but from what i found on the other source, he make that up with well built muscle because of 3DM gear usage. For those who doesn't know 3DM is an instrument that helps to kill titans along side twin blade. it has piston-shot grapple-hooks, and gas mechanism these will allow the user great aerial mobility.

There is a side story for him, Shingeki no Kyojin Gaiden Kuinaki Sentaku, I’ll give you the link below and this story is on going. It’s basically tells when Levi lives in the underground town with his two friends. Until one day Erwin Smith caught him doing an impressive 3DM maneuver, and he admits that Levi’s ability is of a veteran recon corps. And that how Levi made it to the recon squad, with force of course.

This blog of mine contains all movie reviews (maybe some other things, but mainly movies). And i might post some anime, cartoons, or any movie i just recently watched, whether it's old or new movie. Also you guys can give me suggestions and recommendations if you want. For ease reason, i will refer myself as pika.
And with this i will post my first anime review, because i haven't watched any movies lately..

Anime; Shingeki no Kyojin a.k.a Attack on Titan

Shingeki no Kyojin a.k.a Attack on Titan;
This anime or manga tells a story about Eren Yeager and his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. their home was attack by a 60 meter Titan, Colossus Titan, and the Armored Titan, their mother eaten in the process. seeing the ruthlessness of Titan, Eren decided that he will join the military, followed by Mikasa and Armin. as years go on they finally hit the field, Eren with his left (or right, i forgot) arm, and right leg (again i forgot) is bitten by a titan when he tries saving Armin. this event leads to Eren discovers that he can turn into a 15 meter titan, and his friends all find out about it later. this unique ability of him, helps him join the Survey Corps, also hi friends join the Survey Corps later on. then the fight for humanity continues.

the manga is up to 55 chapters and on going
the anime is now has 25 episodes plus 2 OVAs, season 2 comming soon.

Commentary (contains spoilers);
Well i sure like the anime, but i heard from my friend that the manga is much more detailed and i’m planning to read it, that being said this commentary will concentrate more on the anime.

At first i found it very disturbing seeing the titan, they’re humongous, huge mouth (for eating humans apparently), some are disfigured (they call them : abnormal) and they run funny like a sissy, seriously i laughed the first time i saw it! And they have numerous teeth. And most of all they don’t have the genitals, if they have it… O god that. Is. Just. Down. Straight. Gross. Really.. Try googled or search on youtube attack on titans... See the titans... Imagine if they had ‘that thing’... Yeah, now you understand.
Oh and some plot twist!! They have it, yes they do!! There will be a female titan, and guess what?? That titan is Annie Leonhart! And the armored titan is Reiner Braun!! And the colossus titan is Bertolt Hoover!! BAM!! (i know it from wiki, because i was curious after finished watching the anime). Anyways, the story line is cool i personally like it, on character i prefer Annie because she’s like the first plot twist, that is very surprising honestly i didn’t expect her at all! There are some funny moments; when Sasha Braus ate a potato in front of the head instructor, when Jean got jealous. Even mostly the plot is serious some humors are refreshing. O yeah, Eren fights with Annie in titan form, is awesome, see it yourself… Because this a dark fantasy, expect gruesome images, bloods lots of them, honestly when Eren’s mom being eaten my eyes are wide open and my mouth was hanging open too. And that is one of numerous vicious and spine-chilling scene in the series.

This series is highly recommended for you guys (if you haven't already), i give it 8.5/10. I think that’s all i can say for Shingeki no Kyojin a.k.a Attack on Titan anime, if there’re some miss information i sincerely apologize.. See you on the next review
